It’s been almost five months since I last posted here. And I’m not sure if I’m going to post for another five. But just got back from Barcelona and have around 2,500 pics to sort through. What a city! Also (somewhat less glamorous – unless you’re a train freak) took the Amtrak from Oakland to Portland, which was also quite an adventure. Have a few (but not nearly as many as Barcelona) pics to post from that trip as well.
At the prodding of friends I’m contemplating on whether or not to post a photoessay, a travelogue, or some convex combination of the two. But I don’t know if I have the time and/or the energy for it.
So if you’re reading this, tune in next week – there may be some good stuff to look at.

Nice to see a post from you. Please do post some pictures from Barcelona, if you don’t have time for a detailed travelogue
How long was the trip from Oakland to Portland? I recently relocated to Portland from San Francisco and I am contemplating a trip to Seattle on the Amtrak (much shorter!)

hey jasleen, good to hear from you! oakland-portland by amtrak is around 18hrs. the train is supposed to leave at 9:50pm and get in at 3:45pm the next day. will post in some detail about this…

What exactly was the point of that post? There you go – get everyone excited to hear epic tales of the trunked-one battling fire-breathing dragons in seething lava pits, seducing gaggles of fair maidens in island paradises, rubbing elbows/knees/ankles with world leaders (intimate backrubs for the Germans of course), and then…….
…..nothing.

I tell you. There was a time when the blog reigned supreme. A time when it took precedence over humdrum existence. How I long for those days. Would that it returns to it’s position of eminence – just above daily ablutions and second only to the morning dump.
