The Jesus dictum of ‘love your neighbour’ hasn’t help in west, so why someone will need it in India? Some christians have to broad their terms.

I think Jesus’s message of social justice by invoking the dictum of ‘love your neighbour’ is badly needed in India. We have the great paradox of having sme of the richest men in the world and at the same time the number of extremely poor and malnourished are quite large. Missionaries can occupy a place between Govt. and private players whether they are Christian,Hindu or Buddhist. But it is a plain fact that only Christian missionaries are willing to work in slums and remote villages compared to the very few number of Buddhist and Hindu missionaries.

Well, first, keep in mind that this is taken from a 1954 Christian coloring book so it’s going to be simplistic by its very nature. However, as a child growing up listening to small town Christian sermons, I vividly recall the very same sort of statements. Heck, before coming to Taiwan in 1989 I attended a seminar in my small hometown in Kansas presented by a fellow who had spent a number of years in the country and his thesis? “Taiwan is in the grip of Satan?” His evidence? Photos and video of folks at Taoist temples burning money to the gods and to their ancestors. I’ve met folks here who work in that whole default view as well . . . my own beliefs don’t fit that worldview but you can certainly find similarly backward prejudice among folks in any religion. I’ve met narrowminded Buddhists, Christians, Taoists, Muslims, Pagans and more as well as very open and liberal minded folks from those same religions.

well if that was a joke then its ok . but if it was a serious comment then i demand a logical and reasonable supporting with it and ofcourse only based on religious principle not from history , not from academic studies but only pure christian religious principles .
