I blogged about Tintin earlier, when someone from Moldova dropped by the blog. Moldova was once a part of Moldavia, on which Herg? based the fictitious nation of Syldavia (from The Calculus Affair, amongst others).
This time, it’s less a case of life meeting comic-book art, than a case of virtual life meeting comic- book art. Someone has actually uploaded a whole bunch of videos on to the Fanpop Tintin spot, in their entirety. Here’s The Calculus Affair, but before you watch it, let me warn you – this will take up loads of your time!
Thanks, Nikhil.

I have all of Tintin on CD…
I loved it when I was a kid. As a kid growing up in India, I never realized how non PC it was. But considering the time it was published, I am not surprised. I still think its funny and entertaining!

well, you know, there was an article in the new yorker about herge. and how, after ‘tintin in congo’ he met a chinese fellow named chang (inspiration for the chang in ‘tibet’) who taught him about the complexities of how things really were in the outside world. the abstract is here (they don’t allow access to new yorker archives):
