never been to an island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island, but i have visited a lake in a volcano in a lake once. we took a boat across taal lake to the volcano, which is smack-dab in the middle of the lake. then we took ponies up to the crater, and looked down at yet another lake that had formed in the crater.
check out taal lake – a couple hour drive from manila, in a place called tagaytay

but there seems to be some controversy about whether this is really the largest.
