It’s sad, really. While all federal health funds are going towards HIV/AIDS or cancer research, there are literally no funds that are spent on another problem, almost as serious – that of LIC. Considering the amount of publicity that AIDS has received (especially with the recent “Red” ads for Gap), it’s a crying shame that so little attention has been given to LIC by the media and celebrities. There aren’t even any respectable studies that have been published about it. It’s almost like the entire medical world has said: LIC does not exist. But believe you me, it’s out there. It is a sordid reality, one which it pains me to admit to, but I cannot deny the truth. LIC is real, and it exists from the lowest rungs up to the highest strata of society. It spares no one.

I implore you, if you or any of your friends are LIC Positive, do not be ashamed. You have my utmost sympathies. Please, please, please go see a specialist immediately, so rehabilitation can begin at the earliest. I grieve for you and your loved ones, for it is as much a burden on the loved ones as it is on the sufferer. This is something I would not wish upon anyone, not even my worst enemy.
