The Dictionary Wiktionary of Bombay (and Urban Indian) Slang or Bambaiyya, which was a wiki-blog I started some months ago, is no more. But no need to grieve – it has been upgraded to a wiki.
The way the original wiki-blog worked was that you submit a comment with a word or several words and I would approve the word(s) and post it as a blog entry. Well, there’s no need for all of that any more. Now, you can go to the wiki yourself, log yourself in there and create a page with any word you want.
I did it because people were sending in words and I just couldn’t cope (no time). This way, you get to put the word in yourself, so no waiting required. And I get more time to myself.
Go ahead, check it out and add a word yourself. Your contribution is what makes it tick. While you’re there, don’t forget to give yourself credit for it.
The wiktionary is here. The wiki-blog is here.

Bambaiyya is dead (but still alive), and desipundit is shutting down. what’s happening in the blogosphere?

bambaiyya has escaped the wheel of life and transmogrified from a wiki-wannabe into a true-to-life wiki .
desipundit, on the other hand, is truly passing on. what can one say – kya zamana aa gaya hai?
but as bob marley said, “when one door is close/many more is open.”
